The international breakout girl group KATSEYE is navigating another unexpected lineup adjustment ahead of their highly anticipated international shows. HYBE x Geffen Records officially confirmed that group leader Sophia Laforteza will sit out the upcoming European and UK leg of THE WILDWORLD TOUR.
The official label notice, released across the group’s global fan channels, detailed the operational changes:
[Notice] Update on Sophia’s Participation in THE WILDWORLD TOUR in Europe
Hello,
We would like to share an update regarding Sophia’s upcoming schedule.
Sophia is focusing on her well-being, and the company remains fully committed to providing her with all the support and resources needed. Sophia will not be participating in THE WILDWORLD TOUR in Europe and the UK scheduled from September 1 through September 17.
We sincerely ask for EYEKONS’ warm understanding, as our highest priority will always be the health and long-term well-being of our artists. We will share further updates as they become available. Please continue to send your love, warmth, and support to Sophia and KATSEYE.
Thank you.

Following the company’s release, Sophia took directly to her personal Instagram Stories to address her dedicated fan base, known as EYEKONS. Expressing her heartache over missing the upcoming dates, the 23-year-old vocalist emphasized that stepping back was essential for her long-term recovery.
“I can’t express enough how much I want to participate in this tour and perform for you all,” Laforteza wrote to fans. “I have to remind myself every day that our health and mental well-being should always be prioritized. When I show up for you, I want you to get the best version of me.”
She revealed that she has been receiving active medical treatment and focusing on rest during her hiatus. “You can’t pour from an empty cup. It’s important to care for yourself,” she added, while reassuring fans that her remaining group members would put on unforgettable performances across Europe. “I can’t wait until I return and share the stage with my sisters again.”
This announcement follows a series of challenging scheduling setbacks for the global group. KATSEYE was previously slated to take the Dandelion Stage for an early afternoon slot at Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields Festival in Irvine, California. However, the group was forced to withdraw from the performance at the last minute following an injury sustained by member Megan Skiendiel.
Originally introduced to the world as a six-piece powerhouse assembled through the Dream Academy initiative, KATSEYE’s current touring configuration will temporarily move forward with four active members. Group member Manon Bannerman has been on an extended hiatus focusing on her health since February, while Sophia’s temporary break—first announced earlier this month—remains focused on her full physical and mental recovery. Fans worldwide continue to send pouring messages of encouragement, wishing Sophia a peaceful and complete recovery.
