Katy Perry has been bestowed a huge honor.
The 37-year-old entertainer was given the key to the Las Vegas Strip on Wednesday (June 8). She was presented the key at Resorts World Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada.
On hand to honor Katy with this key were Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom, Resorts World Las Vegas President Scott Sibella, and Senior VP of Concers West/AEG Presents John Nelson. They likewise announced that June 9 will now be “Katy Perry Day” in Vegas.
During the ceremony, Katy said:
“It feels so natural to be here. My aunt was a showgirl here, my grandma was a seamstress here, my dad grew up here he ended up being a chauffeur here, my parents here, they got married here, so it’s only natural that I would be on the stage here eventually.”
She went on to add:
“I did not know of think that I would be getting a key to the Strip!”
