Kendall Jenner is offering a rare glimpse into her relationship with her dad, Caitlyn Jenner — and it’s refreshingly real.
During a new episode of The Kardashians, which dropped on Hulu on October 30, viewers saw a sentimental moment unfold when Kris Jenner invited her ex, Caitlyn, to say goodbye to their old family home before it went on the market.
“About an hour ago I called Caitlyn and I said, ‘What are you doing?’ Of course she said, ‘I’m eating dinner and watching Fox News,’” Kris, 69, quipped in a confessional. “I said, ‘Of course you are.’”
While the moment could’ve easily been just a nostalgic trip down memory lane, it also opened up space for Kendall and Kylie Jenner to reflect on how their parents’ relationship — and their own with Caitlyn — has evolved.
“I definitely wasn’t expecting my dad to be here just knowing the relationship my mom has with my dad,” Kendall, 29, admitted. “Not that it is bad, it is just distant.”
Kylie, 28, chimed in with her own hope for healing, saying, “I don’t know if my parents will ever be best friends again but this is definitely a great first step.”
In her confessional, Kendall offered an honest, nuanced look at her connection with Caitlyn today. “I have to compartmentalize my relationship with my dad in a way,” she said. “Because I love her and she is my dad. We have a good relationship but sometimes I get frustrated with her with certain things.”
She added, “We just have completely different views on things. But other than that, I always want to include her. I know she doesn’t have a lot outside of her family and I know she gets lonely.”
Though Kendall didn’t elaborate on what those “different views” are, fans know that Caitlyn has long been outspoken about her conservative politics and her past support of Donald Trump — a topic that has occasionally put her at odds with her family.
Earlier this year, Caitlyn’s son Brody Jenner also opened up about their complex dynamic, reinforcing that the journey toward closeness is still ongoing for many of Caitlyn’s children.
While the Kardashians are no strangers to public family drama, this moment between Kendall and Caitlyn was more intimate — a quiet reminder that even the most famous families navigate growing pains, boundaries, and the effort it takes to stay connected.
New episodes of The Kardashians stream Thursdays on Hulu.
