Madelyn Cline is setting the record straight—in her own words.

In a candid new interview with Allure, the 27-year-old Outer Banks actress opened up about her former relationship with Pete Davidson, why she’s happily single right now, and how she’s learned to deal with the pressure of body image in Hollywood.

Let’s start with the romance headlines. Madelyn and Pete, 31, were first linked back in September 2023. They made their public debut just a month later, but by summer 2024, reports confirmed they had quietly parted ways.

Now, for the first time, Madelyn is commenting (kind of) on the Saturday Night Live alum.

“The jokes, they write themselves. And I said it before, and I’ll say it again, that is my only comment,” she told Allure. Then, after a brief pause, she added, “He has a really cute dog and some really great girlfriends now.”

As for where her love life stands today? “I want to experience this life on my terms first, before I do all the relationship stuff,” Madelyn explained. “When I go to work, I get pretty locked in, and I get really, really overwhelmed sometimes when the priorities start stacking up and I’m trying to figure out where to put my energy.”

It’s a refreshingly honest take from the rising star, who has had to navigate her personal life under a public microscope. But one thing she’s no longer tolerating? Comments about her appearance.

“This is my Roman Empire. People love to pay attention to weight specifically. It’s very bizarre to me,” she said. “From season to season on Outer Banks, my appearance has changed with lots of factors: stress, breakups, healthy or unhealthy habits with food. It’s normal life. But the camera, swear to God, picks up everything. Like, damn. Can I not be on my period? Can I not have a beer the night before? In the comment sections, we are not always family.”

She also touched on her ever-growing collection of tattoos: “Most of them are drunk decisions,” she admitted with a laugh.

It’s clear that Madelyn is embracing this chapter of independence. While fans were intrigued by her connection with Pete, she seems focused on self-growth, balance, and showing up for herself first. It’s not a breakup era—it’s a thriving-on-my-own era.

With a hit show under her belt and a refreshing perspective on fame, Madelyn Cline is proof that sometimes the best relationship you can have is the one you build with yourself.
