Madonna is officially heading back to the label where her career began and is already at work on a new studio album slated for 2026—the long-awaited follow-up to her 2005 smash Confessions on a Dance Floor.
The pop icon revealed on Thursday (September 18) that she has re-signed with Warner Records, reuniting with the company that launched her more than four decades ago. Madonna spent her first 25 years with Warner before moving to a 360 deal with Live Nation. Now, she’s returning to familiar territory and re-teaming with Confessions producer Stuart Price.
“From being a struggling artist in New York City to signing a record deal to release just three singles it seemed at the time my world would never be the same again and in fact that couldn’t have been truer. Since the beginning Warner Records has been a real partner with me. I am happy to be reunited and look forward to the future, making music, doing the unexpected while perhaps provoking a few needed conversations,” Madonna said in the official announcement.
Her 2005 album delivered enduring club classics such as “Hung Up,” “Get Together,” “Sorry,” and “Jump,” and is widely regarded as one of her career peaks.
Label executives Tom Corson and Aaron Bay-Schuck celebrated the reunion, stating: “We are honored to welcome Madonna back home to Warner Records. Madonna isn’t just an artist—she’s the blueprint, the rule-breaker, the ultimate cultural juggernaut. For decades, she has not only defined the sound of global pop music but also reshaped culture itself with her vision, innovation, and fearless artistry. This signing represents a historic, full circle moment, one that brings her back to the label where it all began and reaffirms her unparalleled influence, setting the stage for an exciting new era of creativity and impact.”
While details on the upcoming project remain under wraps, fans can expect Madonna to once again blend innovation with the dance-floor magic that made Confessions on a Dance Floor a global phenomenon.
