Matthew Morrison has exited So You Think You Can Dance.
The 43-year-old former Glee actor has announced that he is stepping down as a judge from the 17th season of the show. His announcement comes just days after the premiere of the new season.
He will still be featured during the entirety of the audition rounds this season because these have all already been filmed. But he will be replaced eventually by a new judge.
Matthew revealed his departure from the show on Friday (May 27):
“After filming the audition rounds for the show and completing the selection of the 12 finalists, I did not follow competition production protocols, preventing me from being able to judge the competition fairly.”
An insider dished to Us Weekly that it was a minor infraction that led to Matt’s exit. However, no other details were given.
Fans are now left wondering what actually happened. Many have taken to social media to express how perplexed they are at what went down.
