Miley Cyrus is embarking on the next era of her recording career, officially signing a new record deal with Atlantic Records. The strategic move marks the fourth major label home for the 33-year-old Grammy winner, aligning her with one of the industry’s most prominent rosters under the leadership of CEO Elliot Grainge.
The label confirmed the partnership across its official channels, sharing a concise welcome message: “Welcome to the family @mileycyrus,” alongside a white heart icon. With this move, Cyrus joins an elite group of contemporaries at Atlantic, including Charli xcx, Bruno Mars, Rosé, Ed Sheeran, Lizzo, and fellow Disney alumnus Hilary Duff. Cyrus’s recording history spans an evolving trajectory—beginning with her early work at Disney’s Hollywood Records, followed by an era at RCA that birthed Bangerz and Plastic Hearts, and most recently, a two-album tenure at Columbia Records that yielded Endless Summer Vacation and Something Beautiful. The transition sets the stage for what Cyrus previously described at an album preview event as an “extremely experimental” approach to her upcoming musical projects.
Beyond her label migration, Cyrus is also signaling an interest in broadening her creative footprint behind the camera. In a guest-edited feature for Wonderland magazine, the artist engaged in a wide-ranging conversation with iconic actor and filmmaker Daryl Hannah, exploring the art of songwriting alongside her aspirations in cinematic storytelling.
When discussing the prospect of stepping back into acting or transitioning into the director’s chair, Cyrus expressed enthusiasm for expanding her repertoire. “Well… That’s partly why I wanted to get in touch. I’d genuinely love to do both,” Miley told Hannah during their conversation. “My dream has always been to work with artists I admire, and you’re one of them. I think we’d make magic together, Daryl.
