Millie Bobby Brown is setting the record straight and doing it with grace, clarity, and full confidence in her Stranger Things family. In a new conversation with Deadline, the 21-year-old actress opened up about her working relationship with co-star David Harbour, amidst swirling rumors that she had once filed claims accusing him of bullying on set.
And from what she said, those rumors couldn’t be further from the truth.
Millie was direct when asked about it, saying “of course” she “felt safe” working with David, who plays Jim Hopper — the gruff, fiercely protective father figure to her character, Eleven. The pair’s onscreen dynamic has been one of the emotional anchors of the show since its debut, so fans were eager to hear her perspective.
“I mean, we’ve worked together for 10 years. I feel safe with everyone on that set,” she said. “You naturally just… you know, you’ve been doing it for so long. We also play father and daughter so naturally, we have a closer bond than the rest because we have had some really intense scenes together, especially in Season 2.”
Her response underscored what long-time fans have always sensed — that behind the supernatural chaos, high-stakes storytelling, and blockbuster success, the Stranger Things cast functions like a tight-knit family. And in any family, bonds forged over a decade are not easily shaken.
Millie continued praising her co-star, highlighting both their personal relationship and their professional synergy. “David and I have a great relationship, we work really closely together in the scenes and preparing for the scenes and I really am excited to see — for everyone to see the labor of love and hard work we’ve put into the closure of our relationship and what that looks like.”
Viewers will soon witness that emotional payoff. The fifth and final season kicked off last week, with Volume 2 set to drop on Christmas Day — perfectly timed, as fans prepare to say goodbye to a series that has shaped an entire era of streaming television.
Millie also teased some of the powerful scenes coming up. “Those scenes that I feel, I think, are going to be quite impactful. I love it. It makes me want to bring my A game every single time I see that I’m on the call sheet working with him because I know he’s bringing it right back,” she said, giving fans the tiniest glimpse of the intensity the final season will deliver.
And this isn’t the first time recently that Millie has shown affection for David. In a separate interview released earlier this week, she noted that the two “value” their “friendship more than anything.” They even shared a warm reunion at the show’s New York City premiere — a moment fans immediately clocked as a sign that those rumors could be put to rest once and for all.
Through all the speculation, Millie’s comments bring the focus back to where it belongs: the work, the relationships, and the decade-long journey that brought Stranger Things to life. As the series enters its final chapter, it’s clear that the heart of the story — and the bond between Eleven and Hopper — remains as strong as ever.
