Children’s educational sensation Ms. Rachel (Rachel Accurso) is using her global platform to advance humanitarian aid in the Middle East. The 43-year-old creator announced on Thursday (September 17) that she will personally match Macklemore’s $1 million donation to Palestinian relief efforts, joining a growing movement of cultural figures directing financial resources toward international aid organizations.
The announcement comes after Macklemore pledged his entire $1 million net salary from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour to six non-profit charities following his removal from the tour lineup over onstage pro-Palestinian comments. Taking to Instagram, Accurso—who serves as an official ambassador for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF)—called on fellow public figures to mobilize resources for civilian relief:
“I will match Macklemore’s donation and I invite every wealthy white celebrity to match it and speak out against the genocide in Gaza. Over 20,000 precious Palestinian children have been killed and children continue to be killed every day. We have a moral obligation to use our privilege and platforms to protect children and human rights.”
Macklemore acknowledged the children’s host’s gesture on his Instagram Stories, re-sharing her pledge with a brief, heartfelt response:
“wowwww ❤️✨🇵🇸”
The philanthropic wave follows intense public focus on New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and venue operators, who objected to Macklemore’s scheduled performance at Gillette Stadium. Kraft subsequently confirmed that he and Sheeran had previously directed a combined $2 million toward regional humanitarian aid organizations to assist civilians caught in the crisis.
Meanwhile, Sheeran’s Loop Tour is set to resume on Saturday, September 19 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Following the voluntary exit of all supporting openers—including Finneas, Aaron Rowe, Lukas Graham, and traditional Irish backing ensemble Beoga—Sheeran is expected to take the stadium stage entirely solo, relying on his signature loop-pedal setup as production teams navigate the unprecedented solo itinerary.
