Marvel Cinematic Universe star Sebastian Stan has officially taken on his most transformative role yet: fatherhood. The 43-year-old actor and his partner, Mercy actress Annabelle Wallis, 41, have quietly welcomed their first child together.

While the couple has chosen to keep initial details surrounding their newborn’s name, birth date, and gender private, sources have confirmed the arrival following initial reports. Representatives for both actors have kept details close to the chest, maintaining the couple’s trademark discretion.

The news follows a subtle public reveal back in April, when Stan and Wallis were photographed enjoying a spring stroll through New York City. During the outing, Wallis comfortably debuted her baby bump in a relaxed black dress paired with a brown jacket and black shades, while Stan walked beside her in a classic denim jacket and crisp white tee.

Though notably private about his personal life, Stan offered a rare glimpse into his mindset regarding fatherhood during a conversation with Deadline while discussing his upcoming film Fjord. Directed by Cristian Mungiu, the drama centers on a man confronting his fundamental worth as a father and a partner—a narrative that prompted deep personal reflection for the actor.

“I want to be a good dad,” Stan shared openly during the interview.

He expanded on the profound shift in his perspective as he prepared for the baby’s arrival: “I’m feeling the responsibility of being a good father. And not to mention a good man. I’m 43, and I feel, in a lot of ways, I’m just starting to learn now. It’s just crazy to me. So, I love when I see I’m discovering different people’s point of view. I try to read as much as I can, no matter what the point of view is, just to understand it.”

The romantic connection between the Captain America: The Winter Soldier star and the Peaky Blinders actress first caught public attention in May 2022, when they were spotted together at Robert Pattinson’s birthday celebration. The pair gradually stepped into the public eye throughout 2024, appearing together at the Berlin International Film Festival for A Different Man and walking the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival for Stan’s Donald Trump biographical drama The Apprentice.

Their bond was highlighted during the 2025 awards season. Upon winning his first Golden Globe Award in January for his performance in A Different Man, Stan made a point to honor Wallis directly from the stage, telling the audience, “Annabelle, I love you.” The couple subsequently attended the 2025 Academy Awards and the exclusive Vanity FairOscar Party side-by-side.

Reflecting on the challenges of navigating a high-profile relationship within the Hollywood ecosystem, Stan shared his philosophy with Vanity Fair during his May 2025 cover story: “I feel like it’s really difficult nowadays to be able to have any privacy whatsoever,” he noted. “It’s the one part of my life that I try to keep somewhat for myself, even though it sort of ends up being out there.”

Now, as they embark on this new chapter as parents, the couple continues to balance international screen success with a grounded, private home life.
