The 29-year-old actress recently enjoyed a night out at an Oasis concert and decided to share a few photos and videos from the event on Instagram. But instead of the comment section filling up with fellow fans and concert chatter, one remark stood out — and not in a good way.
“lmfao i think she has forgotten that she has two kids,” the commenter wrote.
Sophie, who shares daughters Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2, with ex-husband Joe Jonas, wasn’t about to let the comment slide. She replied with her signature dry wit:
“ah I’m so sorry sometimes I forget some people can’t think for themselves. So…. Get this…. There’s this crazy thing called shared custody. Maybe, just maybe, they were with their dad that day.”
Her response quickly went viral, with many praising her for addressing the outdated idea that mothers need to be with their children 24/7 to be considered “good” parents.
It’s been nearly a year since Sophie and Joe finalized their divorce. The pair reached a joint custody agreement after attending mediation, ensuring their daughters split their time between both parents.
