Taylor Swift is setting the record straight after it was reported that she is at the top of the list of celebrities who have contributed to the climate crisis with private flights.
The 32-year-old superstar released a statement after a study came out showing that she had over 170 flights attributed to her plane as well as 8,293.54 metric tons in CO2 emissions.
A rep for Taylor has declared that neither all of the emissions nor all of the flights reported should be attributed solely to her. The rep said to Rolling Stone:
“Taylor’s jet is loaned out regularly to other individuals.
To attribute most or all of these rips to her is blatantly incorrect.”
The study also claimed that the usage of Taylor’s private plane for these flights is 1,184.8 times more than the total annual emissions of the average person.
