Travis Barker has spoken out for the first time after being hospitalized this week.
On Monday (June 27), the 46-year-old Blink-182 drummer was admitted to the hospital and he has remained there since. He has been diagnosed with pancreatitis.
Now, he has released his first statement since his diagnosis. He took to his Instagram Stories on Saturday (July 2) while still in intensive care, and wrote:
“I went in for an endoscopy Monday feeling great. But after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since.”
He went on to elaborate on his condition:
“During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube.
This resulted in severe life threatening pancreatitis.”
Travis concluded:
“I am so very very grateful that with intensive treatment I am currently much better.”
