Turns out, that wild story about Channing Tatum and Jax Taylor being roommates? Totally not true — at least, according to Channing himself.
The Magic Mike star cleared up the long-running rumor during an appearance on Andy Cohen Live this week, and honestly, his response was classic Channing.
Back in 2013, Vanderpump Rules alum Jax Taylor claimed on Watch What Happens Live that he and Channing lived together when they were both up-and-coming models in New York City. But now, Channing’s saying… not so much.
“Absolutely not,” he told host Andy Cohen with a laugh. “I don’t think I ever roommated with him.”
The 45-year-old Roofman actor admitted he did share apartments with other models early in his career — but not Jax. “They’ll throw you in a model house that has just like a bed,” Channing explained. “I got kicked out of my first model house. I got in a fight with one of the guys.”
So yeah, model housing sounds just as chaotic as you’d imagine.
Interestingly, Jax’s side of the story is a little different. In a 2023 Rolling Stone interview, he recalled a pretty vivid memory of living with Channing: “This was around 2002, and those agencies had apartments for models that were coming into town,” Jax said. “They’re basically like dorm rooms with bunkbeds. A tiny room with bunk beds and a bathroom. Channing was one of six guys in our room.”
He even remembered when Channing’s career started to take off. “Now, he got famous real quick. He did this Mountain Dew commercial where he flipped a car. Once he got that job, he took off.”
