Nick Jonas is reflecting on his proposal to wife Priyanka Chopra.
The 27-year-old performer’s first non-music project as EP just dropped on Netflix. Dash & Lily, which is based on Rachel Cohn and David Levithan’s YA books Dash & Lily Book Of Dares, follows the adventures of Dash and Lily as they trade dares, dreams and desires in a red notebook that they pass back and forth in locations around New York City. Oh, and they don’t even meet each other in person.
*Spoiler Alert* The Jonas Brothers make a surprise cameo in the series – and Nick also made a solo cameo on the show as himself and actually talks about his relationship with Priy as sort of an advice to one of the characters.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Nick reflects on doing the scene, and admits that proposals are “nerve-wracking.”
“For any person that proposes to their person and, even as confident as self-assured as you can be walking into that situation, it’s still a little nerve-wrecking. And it should be because it’s a pretty big question,” he reflected.
The same scene also had him realizing that he is getting older.
“It was fun to be able to say that and it was really funny because I’m sitting there going, ‘OK here I am, not much older than these young actors, but here I’m giving this advice,’” he continued. “Made me feel kind of like, ‘Oh s–t I’m getting older and it’s happening.'”
But he hopes that the scene will bring about the desired effect.
“It was a nice little scene and hopefully there was need to hear that message and feel inspired to go and do whatever they need to do,” Nick said.
