Olivia Rodrigo certainly had a very interesting visit to the White House.
The Sour singer dished on her White House trip during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last Tuesday. She went to the White House back in July to chat with President Jo Biden and Dr. Anthony Fauci about vaccines — and now she’s revealing a “strange” thing that happened then.
Olivia talked about how nervous she was to step into what she considers “the coolest place,” saying:
“The White House is just the coolest place. I was so nervous to go. But I, like, walked in there, and there is like all these plates that, like, George Washington used to eat his dinner on. And all of this crazy stuff. I was like, scared I was going to sneeze and break a priceless artifact!
It was crazy. But I walked out, I didn’t break anything. Thank God.”
Jimmy then showed a photo of Olivia and President Biden both donning the President’s signature aviator glasses, to which the 18-year-old singer revealed:
“He gave them to me, actually. He gave me a few gifts. He gave me those. He gave me some M&Ms, and he also gave me a shoehorn, which is strange.”
Jimmy then jokingly responded:
“Well, if you ever thought Joe Biden was too old to be president, now we know he is. He is giving out shoehorns!”
After the episode aired, however, Olivia was made to realize that she made a mistake. She found out what the gift actually was — and no, it’s not a shoehorn.
Taking to social media, she cutely wrote:
“thank u for having me @jimmykimmellive !!! also thank u to my mom who told me this president biden ice cream scoop was a shoe horn and let me repeat it on national television lolllll.”
