Ryan Reynolds is sharing his struggle with his anxieties.

The 44-year-old star opened up in a new interview with WSJ Magazine about his tendency to bite off more than he can chew when it comes to work-life balance — and that because of this, he battles anxieties that come about with regards to trying to do everything all the time.

Ryan candidly said:

“I think maybe it’s just that Canadian sensibility: ‘Well, I said I was going to, so I have to deliver this.’ I will do that at the cost of my own well-bring sometimes.”

He opened up about his tendency also to “fixate on things,” adding:

“That’s sort of the engine of anxiety. I lay awake at night, wrapping and unwrapping every possible scenario. I slept at a perfect right angle for so many years.”

Ryan also revealed what he usually gets very anxious about:

“I tend to pave over anxiety with work, and, to a lesser extent, achievement. You want to tick boxes. So these days, my goal is to be as present as I can and not just tick a box just to do it. I’m fully embracing and living that right now.

It’s been amazing. Heartfelt personal-growth quote: check.”

Ryan opening up about his anxieties comes at the heels of his announcement that he is taking a “sabbatical from movie making.”

Early this month, he took to social media to share that he had wrapped filming on his upcoming movie, Spirited — and he’s now going to be taking a break from making movies.

Taking to Instagram on October 16, Ryan wrote:

“That’s a wrap for me on Spirited. Not sure I’d have been ready to say yes to a film this challenging even three years ago. Singing, dancing and playing in the sandbox with Will Ferrell made a whole lotta dreams come true. And this is my second film with the great @octaviaspencer.

Perfect time for a little sabbatical from movie making. I’m gonna miss every second working with this obscenely gifted group of creators and artists. These days, kindness matters as much as talent. I’ve been lucky to work with folks who are flush with both.”

His wife, Blake Lively, then adorably trolled him by commenting:

“Michael Caine did it first.”
