Selena Gomez just dropped some shocking news: she’s considering retiring from music.

The “Lose You To Love Me” singer is Vogue’s cover girl for April and got candid about the possibility of retiring from music soon.

“It’s hard to keep doing music when people don’t necessarily take you seriously,” she told the magazine.

“I’ve had moments where I’ve been like, ‘What’s the point? Why do I keep doing this?'” Selena explains. “‘Lose You to Love Me’ I felt was the best song I’ve ever released, and for some people it still wasn’t enough.”

“I think there are a lot of people who enjoy my music, and for that I’m so thankful, for that I keep going, but I think the next time I do an album it’ll be different,” she continues. “I want to give it one last try before I maybe retire music.”

Selena released her third album, Rare, in January of last year. She’ll also be dropping her first full Spanish EP, Revelación, on Friday (March 12). She’s already released two singles from the EP, “De Una Vez” and “Baila Conmigo.”

The 28-year-old actress/singer told Vogue that coming out with a full Spanish EP was a “Sasha Fierce moment, for sure.”

She’s also previously talked about how it was something she had “wanted to do for 10 years.”

“Because I’m so, so proud of my heritage and just genuinely felt like I wanted this to happen,” she told Zane Lowe on Apple Music. “And it happened, and I feel like it’s the perfect timing. Just with all the division in the world, there’s something about Latin music that globally just makes people feel things, you know?”

While fans are worried that Selena might step back from music after this, she’s not leaving the spotlight completely. Selena says she wants to focus more on producing and “give myself a real shot at acting.”
