Taika Waititi made headline after headline back in May of 2021, when photos of him in a steamy embrace with both Rita Ora and Tessa Thompson made the rounds.

The photographs were reportedly taken after a night of partying in Sydney, Australia. There were almost a hundred photos taken of the trio getting very close with each other and all their PDA moments.

In the photos, the Thor: Love And Thunder director could be seen embracing, cuddling, and kissing his rumored girlfriend Rita and Thor actress Tessa. Taika and Tessa were working on Love And Thunder at the time. They also worked together previously on 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, which Taika also directed.

After months of silence, the 45-year-old director has finally addressed those PDA snaps taken by paparazzi.

In a new interview with ET Canada, Taika was asked whether he became upset over the huge amount of attention received by those photos. This is what he said in response:

“Not really. I think in the world of internet, everything goes away pretty quick.

And also, is it that big a deal? No, not really. I was doing nothing wrong. It’s fine.”

Taika and Rita have been rumored to be dating for months now. They were first photographed together as a couple earlier in May. They were snapped emerging from the beachside home of Taika in Bondi Beach as they headed out to get breakfast together.

A month before that, in April, Rita shared a photo of the two of them looking very cozy. In the photo she shared on social media, the 30-year-old singer was wrapped in Taika’s arms. She captioned it:

“Good times, memories, random things on my phone and the ones I love… <3 #midweek update”
