Celebrities are urging their followers to take new social distancing regulations seriously.

On Saturday, Lady Gaga went on Instagram to talk about the importance of staying home and staying in self-quarantine.

“So I talked to some doctors and scientists. It’s not the easiest for everyone right now but the kindest/healthiest thing we can do is self-quarantine and not hang out with people over 65 and in large groups. I wish I could see my parents and grandmas right now but it’s much safer to not so I don’t get them sick in case I have it,” she wrote. “I’m hanging at home with my dogs. I love you world, we’ll all get through this. Trust me, I talked to God —she said we’re gonna be ok.”

The next day, she shared another message, reminding everyone to be considerate and compassionate in light of the growing concerns over the Coronavirus.

“This is reminding I think a lot of us what it is to both feel like and be a human being. I think it’s so important to acknowledge that we are and must be a global kind singular community,” she wrote. “We can’t do this without kindness. And corona virus is not prejudiced.”

Taylor Swift also went on Instagram Story with a message about making social sacrifices for the time being.

“I follow you online and I love you guys so much and I need to express my concern that things aren’t being taken seriously enough right now. I’m seeing a lot of get togethers and hangs and parties still happening,” Taylor wrote. “This is the time to cancel plans, actually truly isolate as much as you can, and don’t assume that because you don’t feel sick that you aren’t possibly passing something on to someone elderly or vulnerable to this. It’s a really scary time but we need to make social sacrifices right now.”

Miley Cyrus asked fans to also consider the health and well-being of others.

“Be thoughtful. Respectful. Compassionate. HUMAN. while preparing for social distancing…. NO ONE needs every soup in the store, The more we hoard the more expensive and sparse necessities will become, leaving many without essentials. This is a great time to practice restraint…” she tweeted, adding, “It’s incredibly difficult to make smart decisions while panicking, but think twice before following the fear and being inconsiderate. There is enough to go around if we take care of one another. This is a beautiful time to LEAD!”

Ariana Grande is urging people to “care more about others.”

“I keep hearing from a surprising amount of people statements like ‘this isn’t a big deal’ / ‘we’ll be fine’… ‘we still have to go about our lives’ and it’s really blowing my mind,” Ari wrote. “I understand if that is how u felt weeks ago. but please read about what’s going on. please don’t turn a blind eye.”

“It is incredibly dangerous and selfish to take this situation that lightly,” she continued. “The ‘we will be find because we’re young’ mindset is putting people who aren’t young and / or healthy in a lot of danger. you sound stupid and privileged and you need to care more about others. like now.”

Justin Bieber also shared a reminder to his followers about everyone’s civic responsibility:

“#BEATTHEVIRUS

YOU MAY HAVE IT AND NOT KNOW IT…DON’T SPREAD THE DISEASE

STAY HOME AS MUCH AS YOU CAN

DO NOT GO OUT IN GROUPS

NO BARS, NO CLUBS, NO RESTURANTS

WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN

KEEP 6 FEET APART

ISOLATE YOURSELF IF YOU FEEL SICK

NOW IS THE TIME TO ENGAGE ON LINE AND NOT IN PERSON

IT IS NOT JUST ABOUT YOU, IT IS ABOUT US…..ALL OF US…. Love you guys. But if you care about your parents or your grandparents or any friend who could be compromised please stay in and be safe. Thanks.”

New mom Ashley Graham shined the light on the economic impacts of staying home, encouraging everyone to do our part to stop the spread of the virus, and keep positive, writing:

“The times we are in feel surreal and have put everything into perspective. I’m using this time to appreciate the family time I get to enjoy with Justin and Issac. But we have to acknowledge that it’s a big adjustment to stay inside all day, so remember to also check in and take care of your mental health. Though the times are tough I choose to hold on to comfort given in the eternal command, “Fear not.” I have faith for the now and faith for the future. As we know faith without the necessary work behind it doesn’t mean much.

I believe it’s important for us to remain positive, level-headed, calm, and to continue to support each other. It’s also important to take this seriously; if your job allows, socially distance yourself. Even if you’re young and healthy it’s up to all of us to do our part and protect others, especially the elderly and immunocompromised.

I also want to shine a light on those who don’t have the option of staying home from work, those who are missing vital pay checks, and the children who are missing out on free or reduced lunches they depend on at school. Thank you to the healthcare workers who are working tirelessly and risking their own health to protect us all. We’re all in this together, so in the spirit of “love thy neighbor” let’s lead with love and kindness ❤️

Other celebrities’ are also sharing messages on social media telling fans to take the Coronavirus situation seriously and encouraging everyone to help those who need it most.

“This is a crazy time, but remember we’re all in it together

Start small and support your local communities by getting food out to those in need. I’m donating to @midsouthfoodbank an organization in my hometown that is helping people assemble and deliver nonperishable food in the Mid-South, so families can be prepared to stay home.

Every. little. thing. helps.

Stay healthy, stay calm, and help everyone stay fed.”

Shannon Doherty (via Instagram):

“Stay home. If at all possible. Stay safe. Don’t be the person who spreads it more. If you have any symptoms quarantine and call your doctor. Love to you all…. from afar.”

Ben Affleck (via Instagram):

“During these times of uncertainty, I’m thinking about our most vulnerable populations – children who are losing access to the meals they rely on, our friends and family who are facing job disruptions, the elderly, and low-income families. “Find positives in the negatives….The sun will eventually come out and shine behind the darkest cloud!!!!! Just giving you some good energy on another Sunday that we are all so blessed to see!!!! I love y’all #LiveLoveLaugh”

“Besides hand sanitizers, avoiding crowds, electrolytes, Tylenol, gassing up, etc… THIS is my #Coronavirus weapon. I’m relishing my true blessings. My real legacy. This time is a reminder that all we have is NOW. Imagine the 46 million or more people in this country who live on or below the poverty line. Think of those who can’t drive or walk or who don’t have a loved one who has their back. Praying for EVERYONE’s health but also hoping this is a wake up call to realize what has true value

Tom Hanks, who is currently in quarantine after he and his wife, Rita Wilson, tested positive for COVID-19 a.k.a. Coronavirus while he was working on a project in Australia, gave a shoutout to the “helpers” – a nod to a line from his A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood character, Fred Rogers, who he spoke about his mother’s advise to “look for the helpers” during times of trouble.

“Thanks to the Helpers. Let’s take care of ourselves and each other. Hanx,” he captioned a pic of some toast with Vegemite.

Stay safe and healthy, everyone.
