The much-awaited re-recording of Taylor Swift’s 2008 hit album is finally here – and fans can’t stop talking about it.

Boasting 27 tracks, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) contains re-recorded versions of all the songs from 2008’s Fearless – including the deluxe edition’s “Today Was A Fairytale” – plus, six previously unreleased songs “from the vault,” as well as a remix of “Love Story.”

ICYMI, Taylor previously revealed her decision to re-record her first six albums following her very public feud with Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta after the master recordings were sold by her former label, Big Machine Records.

In light of recent events, fans are now looking at one particular song in a different light – “Changes,” which was the last track on the 2008 album.

As a refresher, Taylor has previously opened up about the song being her experience working with Scott when she was just starting out in the music industry.

“I wrote this song about being on a small record label, being a 16-year-old girl, and having a lot of odds stacked up against all of us,” Taylor told Country Aircheck back in August 2008. “A lot of people, if given those odds, would say that’s not going to work.”

She’d written the song around the time she achieved a huge milestone in her early career – winning the Horizon Award at the 2007 CMAs.

“I looked over at Scott Borchetta after I won, and he was crying,” Taylor said. “It was absolutely the most amazing night of my life, getting to see the emotion of all the people who worked so hard for me. So I wrote that song about that.”

Fast-forward to present day, with Taylor and Scott no longer on good terms, fans think Taylor’s announcement on the album’s release was a subtle nod on how things HAVE changed since that time.

“It was the night things changed. Fearless (Taylor’s Version) is out now,” she wrote, quoting lyrics from the song.

Fans have also gone on social media to express how the lyrics in “Changes,” now with the added subtitle “Taylor’s Version,” seem to have taken on a brand new meaning.

“taylor swift just said “those walls that they put up to hold us back fell down” after finally taking back ownership of her music and that’s exactly why we respect change (taylor’s version) in this house,” one fan wrote.

“the way we are changing the meaning of change and its now a song about taylor taking back control of her art and us supporting her thank you,” another shared.

“Her vocals on change are so strong and the song has a completely new meaning with the re-recordings 👉🏻👈🏻,” a fan tweeted.

“I AM OBSESSED WITH CHANGE IT HITS SO DIFFERENT KNOWING TAYLOR GETS TO OWN FEARLESS #FearlessTaylorsVersion,” another expressed.
