Emily Blunt is revealing how Tom Cruise helped her shake of some major onset nerves.

The Hollywood stars worked together on the 2014 film Edge Of Tomorrow. Emily recounted on the Smartness podcast that while filming, she had some difficulty filming a scene that had required her to put on an 85-pound suit.

The 39-year-old Mary Poppins Returns actress shared:

“We had to wear these enormous suits, which I think would’ve been great if we had CGI’d them, but we wanted to do it in a tactile way. When you hear the word ‘tactile,’ you think that sounds nice and cozy. There was nothing cozy about these suits. It was like 85 pounds. It was so heavy.”

She said that she burst into tears when she encountered the suit:

“The first time I put it on I started to cry, and [Tom] didn’t know what to do. I was like, ‘Tom, I’m not sure how I’m going to get through this shoot,’ and just started to cry.”

Emily then stated that it was Tom’s blunt reaction that helped her snap out of it and get it together:

“He just stared at me for a long time, not knowing what to do, and he goes, ‘Come on, stop being such a p-ssy, OK?”

She adde that his reaction made her laugh, and that helped her to find her center again and pull off the suit – and the scenes!
