Here it is. The moment every fan has been waiting for for a long time has finally arrived. After many years of speculation and silence, Tom Holland is finally opening up about that Zendaya and relationships and the crazy media frenzy surrounding them.

In a new interview for GQ’s Men Of The Year 2021 cover feature, the 25-year-old Speer-Man: No Way Home star addressed many things head on, from love and his long-rumored girlfriend to career plans and how long he sees himself as Spider-Man.

He touched on not speaking about his relationship with Zendaya, stating:

“I don’t think it’s about not being ready. It’s just that we didn’t want to.”

He also spoke about how he knows that as he and Zendaya are about to embark on a global press tour for their upcoming Spider-Man movie, they will be facing many, many questions about this very topic:

“It’s not a conversation that I can have without her. You know, I respect her too much to say… This isn’t my story. It’s our story. And we’ll talk about what it is when we’re ready to talk about it together.”

Tom addressed those photos too — we all know the ones, where he and Zendaya were caught kissing inside a car by a stoplight on the road in Los Angeles. Those photos went massively viral and people all over the world had a reaction to it, seeing it as confirmation of their long-rumored relationship. He stated about what happened:

“One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world.

I’ve always been really adamant to keep my private life private, because I share so much of my life with the world anyway.

We sort of felt robbed of our privacy.”

Zendaya likewise shared her sentiments about all of it, speaking later in a phone interview about love and wanting to keep some things sacred:

“It was quite strange and weird and confusing and invasive. The equal sentiment [we both share] is just that when you really love and care about somebody, some moments of things, you wish were your own…

I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other.”

Tom went on to open up about what he sees for himself in terms of his career and if Spider-Man is something he sees himself continuing with (he is currently not yet signed to any more MARVEL Spider-Man films):

“Maybe it is time for me to move on… I have to take Peter Parker into account as well, because he is an important part of my life. If I’m playing Spider-Man after I’m 30, I’ve done something wrong.

I definitely don’t think I want to be an actor for the rest of my life. I’ve always been really good with my hands. If something’s broken, I can always figure out a way of fixing it.

I’d be very content with just being a stay-at-home dad, and producing a film here and there… Or I might do Spider-Man 4, 5, and 6, finish when I’m 32, and never make another. I’m not sure what I want to do.”
