Are they or aren’t they? Tom Holland and Zendaya may have not yet admitted to the public that they are together, but there IS one thing that Zendaya’s admitting: The fact that Tom has completely influenced her into becoming obsessed with a certain reality TV show!
The 25-year-old Emmy-winning actress dished in an interview with InStyle that Tom got her “sucked in” to a particular reality series: Love Island!
Zendaya adorably shared that she had not heard about the show until she and Tom were filming the second Spider-Man movie. She said:
“I was like, ‘What is this?’ And I was so against it too —- I was like, ‘Guys, this is ridiculous. You can’t watch this every day.
Then I was sucked in!”
She spoke more about the reality TV fare and how it’s now “everywhere”:
“I don’t remember it having a huge presence in American before that summer, but when I came back, the season that I saw ended up also being shown in Euphoria. It was rduring Rue’s depression episode and she was just stuck in her room, watching episode after episode of Love Island. Now it’s everywhere!”
And so of course, when she was asked about doing a convincing British accent, Zendaya cutely said:
“I end up just doing sound bites from Love Island!”
Zendaya also spoke about what she admires and appreciate about her Spider-Man co-star and rumored real-life love, sweetly revealing:
“There are many things, obviously, that I appreciate. In an actor way, I appreciate that he really loves being Spider-Man. It’s a lot of pressure — you take on the role of a superhero wherever you go. To the little kid who walks by, you are Spider-Man. I think he handled that so well.”
She went on to gush about how much she loved watching him work on set:
“Seeing him at work, even though he’s not a Virgo, he is a perfectionist. Our director allowed me to come in every day, and it was cool to see how he cares so much about his work and making it right.
I watched him do a fight scene all day, which is exhausting. He’d do a move, come back to the monitors, watch it, and say, ‘I can do that better.’ I’d be like, ‘Dude, you got it.’ But he wants us to be perfect, and I really appreciate that.”
