Vanessa Bryant is celebrating the Los Angeles Lakers’ big win.

On Sunday (October 12), the L.A. Lakers defeated the Miami Heat 106 to 90.

To commemorate the win, Vanessa went on Instagram Story to share a picture of her late husband, Kobe Bryant, and Lakers General Manager, Rob Pelinka, standing courtside.

“Go Lakers!” Vanessa wrote, adding, “Congratulations Uncle P! Congratulations @Lakers! Kobe was right RP, ‘Stay the course- block out the noise’ – @kobebryant.”

She ended her note with, “Wish Kobe and Gigi were here to see this,” and a red heart emoji.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the Lakers to victory in Game 6 of the 2020 NBA Finals, winning the team’s 17th championship overall, and their first since Kobe and Pao Gasol led the team to beat the Boston Celtics in 2010.

Kobe, his 13-year-old daughter, Gigi, and seven others tragically died in a helicopter crash in January. The Lakers have since dedicated their season in his memory.

After the big game, LeBron paid tribute to Kobe in an interview, reflecting on how honoring his memory propelled their whole team this season.

“We got as close as you possibly can be, when that moment happened,” LeBron said. “It brought the whole basketball world close as well, but when you’re internal and it hits home, it just means that much more and we locked in from that very moment in saying, ‘This is bigger than us.'”
