Fans are so not happy with Vanessa Hudgens for making “insensitive” comments about the Coronavirus outbreak.

On Monday (March 16), Vanessa held an Instagram Live sesh from her home. When a fan asked her asked if she thought the effects of the virus it would last until July, she responded:

“Um, yeah, ’til July sounds like a bunch of bulls–t. I’m sorry, but like, it’s a virus, and I get it. Like, I respect it. But at the same time, like, even if everybody gets it, like… yeah, people are gonna die. Which is terrible, but like, inevitable? I don’t know. Maybe I shouldn’t be doing this right now.”

Her comments sparked some major backlash on Twitter, with fans accusing her of being “irresponsible” and “selfish.”

She has since responded to the criticism, posting a video message on her Instagram Story on Tuesday (March 17).

“Hey, guys, so yesterday I did an Instagram Live, and I realize today some of my comments are being taken out of context. It’s a crazy time… and I am at home and in lockdown, and that’s what I hope you guys are doing too, in full quarantine, and staying safe and sane,” she said in the video. “Don’t take this situation lightly, by any means. I am home. So stay inside, y’all.”

She also went on Twitter with a Notes App statement:

“Hey guys. I’m so sorry for the way i have offended anyone and everyone who has seen the clip from my Instagram live yesterday. I realize my words were insensitive and not at all appropriate for the situation our country and the world are in right now,” Hudgens wrote. “This has been a huge wake up call about the significance my words have, now more than ever. I’m sending safe wishes to everyone to stay safe and healthy during this crazy time.”

Later that day, Chrissy Teigen, unofficial Queen Of Twitter, who has made some blunders online in the past – and publicly apologized for it – urged people to practice forgiveness.

“Sometimes people, especially famous people, are gonna say really stupid s–t. and so are you. And they, and you, will learn from it and hopefully their history says they’re good,” Chrissy tweeted. “It’s OK. And at the same time, wow they really had a dumb f–kin moment. But you don’t have ruin their lives.”

And, in case it wasn’t clear, she made sure people knew who she was talking about.

“This isn’t about me this time. but it will be one day, or it’ll be you. but yeah today it’s Vanessa lol,” she added.

While she also told fans that she wasn’t exactly down for what Vanessa said, she pointed out that people do make mistakes but they learn from it.

“Definitely agree it was. But we have all said insensitive s–t. Or maybe im just the only other one? But I promise promise promise I learned and she is learning now and that’s all you can ask for,” she responded to a fan.

“What can I say. Kids and online torture have made me a much more empathetic person. May you never be on the end of everyone hating you,” she added.

On the other end of the spectrum, while most have been busy taking precautions and working together to flatten the curve amidst the Coronavirus outbreak, Jared Leto revealed that he had just learned about the “mind-blowing changes” that’s happened to the world in the 12 days since he went into isolation.

“Wow. Twelve days ago I began a silent meditation in the desert,” Jared wrote. “We were totally isolated. No phone, no communication etc. We had no idea what was happening outside the facility.”

“Walked out yesterday into a very different world. One that’s been changed forever. Mind blowing — to say the least,” he continued.

“I’m getting messages from friends and family all around the globe and catching up on what’s going on,” he ended his post. “Hope you and yours are OK. Sending positive energy to all. Stay inside. Stay safe.”

He captioned the Instagram post with a red heart emoji.
