Ashton Kutcher is supposed to be on the next Virgin Galactic flight to the edge of space – but being a family man comes first.

The actor and investor revealed in an interview with Cheddar News that he previously had a ticket to join Virgin Galactic’s next mission. However, Ashton’s wife, Mila Kunis, talked him out of it.

“When I got married and had kids, my wife basically encouraged that it was not a smart family decision to be heading into space when we have young children,” he told the outlet.

Last week, Virgin Galactic owner Richard Branson launched a successful sub-orbital test flight into space. The company plans to do two more test flights and hopes to be able to offer the trips by 2022. The thrilling ride to space will set a passenger back around $250,000 or more per seat.

And, in case you’re wondering what happened to Ashton’s ticket, “so I ended up selling my ticket back to Virgin Galactic,” he shared.

But it seems he hasn’t totally given up on his dreams of space.

“I was supposed to be on the next flight, but I will not be on the next flight,” he continued. “But at some point, I will be going to space.”

Ashton isn’t the only celebrity with dreams of exploring the great beyond. According to Business Insider, around 600 people have already reserved tickets. The passenger list is believed to include A-List stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Russell Brand, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Justin Bieber.

Per Reuters, some of the ticket holders have been waiting for as long as 15 years for the ride to space.
