Florence Pugh says Zach Braff has given her the “best birthday present.”

On Thursday (July 8), ahead of Black Widow’s release, the Scrubs actor went on Instagram to reveal that he had commissioned a painting in honor of Florence’s character in the film.

“Go see ‘Black Widow’ this weekend and watch @florencepugh save the world!” he captioned the image of Florence as Yelena Belova in a white jumpsuit with a gun in each hand.

The painting, which was commissioned from comic book artist Phil Noto, also features the word “Widow” in Russian.

Florence, who celebrated her birthday in January, shared Zach’s post on her Instagram Story, writing, “Best birthday present.”

Zach and Florence have been romantically linked since 2018 – she was cast in his short film In The Time It Takes to Get There. However, the couple faced criticisms about their age gap. And in April of last year, Florence went on Instagram with a video calling out those “bullying” Zach.

She also opened up about dealing with the criticism during an interview on The Times.

“It’s so weird to me to go on to someone’s page and s— on it,” she said. “That’s so not my nature — to go and bully for the sake of bullying. It’s such an odd thing that we’ve become OK with in the past ten years of social media.”

“The thing is, people want Instagram to be a nicer place, they want to see nice things,” Florence added. “They want to be inspired and they want to be happy. I don’t mind you not liking me, that’s absolutely fine. In which case don’t follow me.”
