Zendaya’s latest social media move has got everyone talking as the star decided to hit the reset button on her Instagram, unfollowing everyone including close friends, associates, and even her boyfriend, Tom Holland. The 27-year-old Emmy winner’s mysterious social media cleanse has raised eyebrows, leaving fans curious about the reasoning behind this drastic action.

The Euphoria actress’ Instagram overhaul arrives amidst her upcoming starring roles in anticipated films like Dune: Part 2 and Challengers. While she hasn’t elaborated on the cleanse, the timing of this reset coincided with her recent post about Challengers, sharing a captivating poster of the movie.

“Challengers April 26th,” the actress shared with her 194 million followers. “Wishing you all the most beautiful new year✨”

In the artsy poster, Zendaya’s character takes center stage, donning reflective sunglasses that showcase co-stars Josh O’Connor from The Crown and Mike Faist from West Side Story engaged in a tennis face-off. Directed by Luca Guadagnino, Challengers was initially set for a September premiere but was postponed due to the SAG-AFTRA actor’s strike, marking its new release on April 26th.

Similarly, Dune: Part 2, another of Zendaya’s upcoming releases, was also delayed by Warner Bros. Discovery amid the same strike. The film, boasting an ensemble cast including Timothée Chalamet and Florence Pugh, is now slated for a March debut.

Despite the buzz around her films, Zendaya has been notably quiet on social media, possibly taking some downtime with family and her beau. While she’s kept a low profile, there have been moments captured by paparazzi, including an outing with Tom in West London where the couple were spotted embracing.

Adding fuel to the rumor mill, a recent Instagram post featuring a ring on her finger sparked engagement speculations. However, the actress swiftly debunked these rumors on her Story, attributing the ring to her fashion choices, not an engagement.

“I can’t post anything, you guys,” Zendaya laughed in the video, her eyes rolling playfully. “I posted it for my hat… Like, not for the ring on my right finger, you guys. Seriously, you think that’s how I would drop the deuce? Like, what?!”

Zendaya’s relationship with Tom has been private since their Spider-Man: Homecoming days in 2016, maintaining a low-key presence even during public appearances and interviews.

Despite the unfollowing spree on her Instagram, it’s worth noting that Tom Holland still follows Zendaya. This social media purge remains shrouded in mystery, leaving fans to wonder about Zendaya’s intentions behind this drastic cleanup as she gears up for her highly anticipated film releases in 2024.
