thumbnailThe fans have voted. The results are in. And the 2021 MTV Movie and TV Awards’ big winners have golden popcorns to show for it!

The 2021 MTV Movie and TV Awards aired live from the Palladium in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (May 16). Leslie Jones hosted the evening’s ceremonies – and kept the laughs coming. She also treated fans to a hilarious “Snyder cut” of her steamy Bridgerton parody with Breakthrough Performance winner Rege-Jean Page.

Among the fan-faves, WandaVision ruled the evening, with a total of 13 nominations, bagging four awards. In celebration of her more than three-decade-long career, Scarlett Johansson received the Generation Award – but her speech was hilariously interrupted by hubby Colin Jost, who mistook the MTV Award for a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award and slimed her!

Comedic Genius Awardee Sascha Baron Cohen also had fans seeing not just double or triple, but quadruple, as he reprised his iconic alter egos – Borat, Ali G, and Bruno – during his acceptance speech.

The late Chadwick Boseman got a standing ovation from the audience as he was announced the winner of Best Performance In A Movie for his role in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Yara Shahidi, who presented the award, accepted it on his behalf, and paid a touching tribute to Chadwick.

“I’m so honored to accept this award on behalf of Chadwick Boseman. I know I speak for myself, his legions of fans, and the communities he so beautifully represented when I say we are honored to celebrate his art today and every day. His impact is everlasting and we are eternally grateful for the ways his presence and his art have changed the world. We love you and we miss you,” Yara said.
