The nominations for the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards have been announced!

On Tuesday (July 28), Laverne Cox, Josh Gad, Tatiana Maslany virtually joined host Leslie Jones to announce this year’s nominees.

Among those scoring nominations for the first time are Euphoria star Zendaya, Normal People’s Paul Mescal.

The actress celebrated the Emmy nod on social media, writing, “I’m honestly speechless, my heart is just overflowing with love and gratitude. I’m so incredibly honored to work beside the talented people that I get to call family. I am a small piece of a big beautiful puzzle and I’m so proud of all of you.”

“Thank you to everyone out there who’s watched and given our show life, thank you Sam Levinson, HBO and A24 for everything and the Television Academy for this beautiful acknowledgment,” she continued. “Thank you, thank you, thank you. We out here Emmy nominated y’all!!”

Paul also issued a statement with his reaction to the milestone moment.

“I am so utterly honored to have been included in the nominations list today alongside such immense actors I have admired from afar. Normal People was created by a huge cast and crew who deserve so much recognition for their incredible work,” he said.

He also heaped praises on his co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones, who’s a frequent scene partner. “Most importantly I want to thank my amazing friend and brilliant co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones as the show would not have got the extraordinary response without her electric performance.”

Meanwhile, Sandra Oh is on a hot streak, landing her third straight nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for portraying Eve Polansky in Killing Eve. Her co-star, Jodie Comer, also landed an Emmy nom.

Watchmen is this year’s top nominee, with 26 nods – including Outstanding Drama Series. Other top nominees are The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Ozark, Schitt’s Creek, and Succession.

Find out who will bring home the trophy during ABC’s live broadcast of the 72nd Primetime Awards on September 20, which will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. The Creative Arts Emmys will take place prior with a two-day ceremony to be held on Sept. 12 and 13.
