Chris Evan and Lily James are sparking romance rumors after the two were spotted a night out in London over the weekend.
In pictures published by the Daily Mail, the two were snapped exiting Marks Club – a private members’ club – in Mayfair, London then get into a taxi – Lily looking gorgeous in a silky red gown with a navy trench coat and heels and Chris looking sharp a black suit.
According to the outlet, Chris and Lily both went back to Chris’ hotel – The Corinthia. However, the report also notes that the two went in through different entrances – Chris entered through the main entrance while Lily came in through the back.
So, are they a thing? Well, short answer: Unclear.
Lily was reportedly been in an on-again-off-again relationship with The Crown star Matt Smith up until recently. It seems both stars prefer to keep their personal lives on the DL. In December, however, The Sun reported that the two had called it quits after five years of dating. Neither of them had commented on the report.
There’s been rumors that the two may have rekindled their romance amid the quarantine. In March, they were photographed out together, and again on May 15, riding bikes together.
But by the end of June, Matt was spotted arriving at the rehearsals for a virtual version of his play, Lungs, with his The Crown co-star Claire Foy; Lily, on the other hand, spent the afternoon hanging out with pals Gemma Chan, Dominic Cooper and Billie Piper on Primrose Hill, per Grazia.
As for Chris, a source told Us Weekly in January 2020 that the Captain America star was “dating different women and is having fun,” and is generally just trying to “be more private with his love life.” He wasn’t with anyone exclusively at that point.
As far as the general public knows, Chris has been single for a while – he was last romantically linked with Jenny Slate, whom he dated from 2017-2018. Before that, he’d been linked with other actresses, including Jessica Biel, Minka Kelly, Lily Collins. And, apparently, there’s a reason he tends to date actresses.
“There’s a certain shared life experience that is tough for someone else who’s not in this industry to kind of wrap their head around,” he explained in a 2017 interview with Esquire. “Letting someone go to work with someone for three months and they won’t see them. It really, it certainly puts the relationship to the test.”
Reps of both stars are yet to respond to requests for comments.
