Chris Pratt IS Star-Lord in Guardians Of The Galaxy. It truly is a stellar example of perfect casting.

However, the 43-year-old star has revealed that he was actually first NOT cast in other MARVEL roles before he booked this one.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Chris revealed:

“I auditioned for them all. I had a rough run with Marvel.

It got to the point where I was never gonna audition for Marvel again. I was like, ‘This is stupid, I’m never gonna be in a Marvel movie.’”

He got more specific, revealing at least two other roles he was turned down for. One was Captain America. Casting director Sarah Evans previously confirmed that Chris was in fact in the running to play the role immortalized by Chris Evans.

Chris said he also auditioned for a role in Thor:

“I auditioned for Thor, but not even to be Thor — but to be one of the sidekick guys, and I didn’t get a callback. Usually they give you a little bit of feedback, and I remember the casting director goes, ‘Wow. You really made a big choice there.’ Which is code for like: ‘Hey, dial back the acting there, guy.’”

Thor was of course brought to life on the big screen by another famous Chris – Chris Hemsworth.
