The 2024 CMT Music Awards showcased the best and brightest stars in country music, with a night filled with electrifying performances, heartfelt tributes, and well-deserved honors.

Hosted by the talented Kelsea Ballerini, the annual awards ceremony took place at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, and was broadcast live on CBS on April 7, 2024. The star-studded event, also available for streaming on Paramount+, brought together top artists, emerging talents, and devoted fans to celebrate the vibrant world of country music.

Leading the pack with three nominations each were Kelsea Ballerini, Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, and Megan Moroney. The diverse lineup of nominees also welcomed newcomers like Amber Riley, Ashley Cooke, Chayce Beckham, Hozier, Koe Wetzel, Stephen Wilson Jr., Tyler Childers, Warren Zeiders, and Zach Bryan, highlighting the genre’s ever-evolving landscape.

The night was ablaze with unforgettable performances from country music’s biggest names, including Jason Aldean, Dasha, Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Sugarland, NEEDTOBREATHE, Jordan Davis, Sam Hunt, and Old Dominion, among others. Special collaborations added extra sparkle to the evening, with standout moments like Wilson joining forces with Brooks & Dunn and Sammy Hagar to pay tribute to the late Toby Keith, whose legacy continues to inspire.

Trisha Yearwood graced the stage with her soulful rendition of “Put It in a Song” and was honored with the inaugural June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award, recognizing her philanthropic efforts and contributions to society.

For Ballerini, who took on solo hosting duties for the first time, the experience was both thrilling and humbling. Reflecting on her role as emcee, she shared, “It’s definitely new grounds for me. But it’s my fourth year hosting, so I feel like I’ve learned a lot. And the good thing about CMTs is there’s such a light energy, so there’s not a pressure that I feel to be perfect. I just want to be fun, honor the night and help people have a good time.”

As the curtain closed on another unforgettable CMT Music Awards, the country music community celebrated its achievements, embraced its diversity, and looked forward to the bright future ahead. With its blend of tradition and innovation, the event reaffirmed the genre’s enduring appeal and its ability to captivate audiences around the world.
