Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson are among the couples who have had to postpone their wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic. But it seems that’s not the only reason they’re putting it off.

The Saturday Night Live comedian appeared on Ellen Thursday )October 15), and he and host Ellen DeGeneres got to talking about his and Scarlett’s upcoming nuptials.

Ellen noted that Colin’s SNL “Weekend Update” co-anchor, Michael Che, has threatened to make a scene on their big day.

“[Michael] plans to make a scene at most events. That’s his general approach,” Colin quipped, jokingly adding, “That’s part of why we’ve just been postponing it is we can see him getting ready for the wedding and we’re like, ‘Maybe we should wait another day,'”

He does, however, have a special role in mind for his pal. “What I really want for Che is, I really want to ask him to do an objection at the wedding,” he shared. “A lot of people do speeches, but I think it would be nice in that moment, so few people utilize that moment to object and I think he could do a really great objection.”

When Ellen said that Michael had asked her to be his plus one, Colin replied, “What you want at a really small COVID wedding is you want a bunch of extra plus ones, hopefully they’re flying in from across the country.”

Colin and Scarlett have been dating since 2017 – and got engaged in May 2019. Back in July, Colin has expressed that he wasn’t sure they would even be able to tie the knot anytime soon.

“We don’t know what’s even legally allowed, right?” he said on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live. “This is also not the time to get all your elderly, at-risk relatives together in one big group.”

But it sure looks Colin is giving the wedding planning more thought.
