It looks like wedding bells are in the very, very, very near future for music’s favorite couple!
Reports have come out that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have obtained a marriage license in Oklahoma on Tuesday, June 29. The 51-year-old “Hollaback Girl” singer and the 45-year-old country star, who met when they were both judges on the hit show The Voice, are said to have obtained the license through the Johnston County Court clerk.
So what does this mean for the engaged couple? Well, it seems that they will be tying the knot pretty much any day now, because those who file for a marriage license have ten days from the date that they filed for them to wed!
It is also being reported that Gwen and Blake may be exchanging vows on Saturday, July 3, at the Oklahoma ranch of Blake. The two reportedly have celebrations lined up over the Fourth of July weekend.
And according to more reports, the respective children of both Blake and Gwen are already in Oklahoma. A private plane is said to be heading to Los Angeles to pick up the immediate family of Gwen, too!
In a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in May, Blake seemingly revealed what the song to his and Gwen’s first dance as a married couple will be! After jokingly telling Jimmy this:
“I think it’s called ‘The Wedding March.”
Jimmy elaborated that he was referring to this moment:
“At the reception, you come out of a fog machine. ‘Here is Mr. & Mrs. Blake Shelton!’ We hear you come out — ‘And now, it’s time for the couple’s first dance’ — then what do we hear?”
And Blake gamely shared:
“It’s ‘If You Leave’ from the Pretty In Pink soundtrack. I swear I have it right here. We’ve talked about this, we both love the song. We’re both fans of the ‘80s. Why not, why not.”
Will Blake and Gwen tying the knot this weekend? Will they be dancing to “If You Leave”? Will they have a beautiful fourth of July weekend wedding?
