Fans aren’t happy about Justin Bieber and Kendall Jenner talk about their privilege during the coronavirus global health crisis.

Justin has been chatting with some of his famous pals on Instagram Live while quarantining in his home in Canada.

On Friday (April 10), Justin and wife Hailey were joined by their pal Kendall Jenner. And Justin asked Kendall how she liked her new place, which is reportedly an $8.5 Million mansion in Beverly Hills.

“How do you like your place that you got?” Justin asked Kendall.

“Oh my God it’s literally my favorite place on the planet,” she replied. “I worked for so long to get it to the point it’s at. I renovated it for like a year.”

Justin went on to talk about how lucky they were to be quarantining inside great homes.

“How blessed are we to be able to like — a lot of people obviously in this time have a crappy situation,’ he said. “You know, they look at us and obviously, we’ve worked hard for where we’re at, so it’s like, you can’t feel bad for the things we have.”

“I think about it all the time,” Kendall chimed in.

“But I think, just us taking that time to acknowledge that there are people who are really crippling is important,” Justin added. “We send our love and support to them.”

Justin and Kendall appear to be trying to be mindful of others, but it looks like their exchange still rubbed some people the wrong way.

Fans went on Twitter and accused them of being “tone-deaf” and “clueless.”

“i’m sure all the newly unemployed are grateful to know justin bieber thought about them being poor,” one person wrote.

“Let’s break it down shall we? Justin Bieber started making his money singing at 12 backed by a machine of people, not his own writings or volition. Kendall and Hayley were born into their wealth cause of their cute last names. Don’t talk about working hard to those of us who do,” another expressed.

“So glad Justin Bieber, his wife and Kendall Jenner feel bad for us poor folk,” one person tweeted.

“Thank god they’re “acknowledging” us. SO GRATEFUL. Suddenly my debts are wiped clear and im no longer unemployed,” a Twitter-user wrote.

“I cannot take it anymore with celebs and influencers making COVID comments,” another shared. “Maybe just be a human — you are not an expert. Shut up and bake banana bread and stay home.”

Justinm Hailey and Kendall are yet to respond to the backlash, but they aren’t the only celebrities to get criticized for their comments during the coronavirus crisis.

Ellen DeGeneres ended up taking down a video where she joked that self-isolating at home in her mansion was like being in jail. Gwyneth Paltrow was also criticized when she pushed a $450 skirt and a $425 pair of sneakers on Goop’s Instagram account. Some thought Gal Gadot’s star-studded cover of Joh Lennon’s “Imagine” was empty gesture. And fans accused Vanessa Hudgens for being “irresponsible” and “selfish” with her “insensitive” comments about the coronavirus pandemic – she’s since offered a public apology.
