Katie Holmes is weighing in on a very important question: Will that much hoped for Dawson’s Creek revival ever happen?
The 44-year-old actress and director starred as Joey Potter in the iconic series back in the late ‘90s and early ’00s. And now in the era of revived shoes, fans have been fervently hoping that the beloved series would return in a new way.
While speaking at Kering Talks Women In Motion during ht e 2023 Cannes Film Festival, Katie confirmed that there have been talks about doing reboot:
“There have been many discussions over the years. We all loved the experience.”
However, Katie also revealed a concerned that has been brought up about bringing Dawson’s Creek back.
“There’s a protection that comes along with the discussion. The show was a time capsule. To put it into today’s world might tarnish it a bit.
It was right before everyone had a phone and social media and all of that, so there was an innocence that was there between these characters that was one of the things I think people liked about the show.
To put it into the setting of today’s world, I don’t know.”
She continued, saying:
“We’ve often talked about it.
For now, we kind of just keep saying that util there is a real reason to do it, it hasn’t been something where people have said, ‘This is the take on it.’”
