Ethan Slater’s estranged wife Lilly Jay is speaking out, over a week after it was revealed that he is now dating Ariana Grande.
Earlier this month, Ariana announced that she and her husband Dalton Gomez were separated. Just days later, news came out that she and Ethan were seeing each other. Soon after that came the news that Ethan had filed for divorce from Lilly, whom he’s been married to for four years. Ethan and Lilly had just welcomed a baby boy less than a year ago.
Ariana and Ethan are starring together in the upcoming Wicked movies, which are currently filming.
Earlier this week, reports emerged that Lilly was blindsided by the sudden split, and that she even knew Ariana personally.
Now, Lilly is making her first statements on their separation as well as Ethan’s new romance.
Speaking to Page Six, Lilly said:
“[Ariana’s] the story really. Not a girl’s girl.
My family is just collateral damage.
The story is her and Dalton.”
Lilly stated that she is focused on being “a good mom” to her son with Ethan.
She made another statement, this time to Daily Mail:
“I am focused on rebuilding a life for our son and rebuilding a life for him.
This is what I am trying to do and this is my only focus.”
An insider close to the former couple dished that Lilly spent a lot of time with Ariana when she visited Ethan on the Wicked set in London:
“Lilly hung out with Ethan and Ariana so many times. Ariana met their baby and even held him. They had dinners together in London – and Diana told Lilly that she wanted to have a baby one day and that she couldn’t wait to start a family.”
