Alex Cooper is entering a brand-new era — and this time, it’s not centered around podcast charts, business moves, or viral interviews.

The Call Her Daddy creator just shared major personal news: she and husband Matt Kaplan are expecting their first child together.

The announcement arrived on Sunday (May 17), with Alex posting a photo on Instagram alongside Matt, showing off her growing baby bump. Keeping the caption simple, she wrote:

“Our family”

Within minutes, the comments section transformed into a flood of congratulations from fans, fellow creators, and celebrity friends celebrating the next chapter for one of podcasting’s most influential personalities.

For followers who have watched Alex evolve from podcast host to media entrepreneur, the news feels like another milestone in a whirlwind few years that have reshaped both her career and personal life.

Alex, 31, and Matt, 42, first got engaged in 2023 before tying the knot the following year during an intimate destination wedding weekend in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

Despite Alex’s public profile and massive audience, she previously described the celebration as deeply personal and refreshingly free of pressure — the kind of wedding atmosphere that felt more focused on joy than spectacle.

Speaking to Vogue about the celebration, Alex shared:

“And I know what you’re thinking: A small intimate wedding sounds like a potential recipe for an extremely awkward dance floor—but that couldn’t have been further from reality. The vibes were immaculate. There were dance-offs, bottles being passed around, crowd surfing…and once again, I’m not a dancer, but there wasn’t a care in the world from anyone that night. Everyone was on cloud nine.”

The quote quickly became a fan favorite at the time because it reflected the version of Alex many listeners feel they know — candid, self-aware, and willing to laugh at herself while sharing personal moments.

While Alex built a media empire through her voice and personality, Matt has long established himself in Hollywood as a producer. He’s perhaps best known for projects including Before I Fall and Netflix’s To All the Boys franchise, helping develop projects aimed at younger audiences over the years.

Together, they’ve become not only a married couple but also significant business partners.

Just days before announcing the pregnancy, the two made a public appearance at YouTube’s TV Upfront presentation at Lincoln Center in New York City, appearing united as they discussed the growing future of their media company.

At the event, Alex unveiled several new projects through her Unwell Network set for spring 2027, including competition series Unwell Games, two-part miniseries Pot Stirrer, microdrama Holiday Hard Launch, and docuseries Before The Steps.

The slate reflected just how much Alex’s brand has expanded beyond podcasting. What started as a breakout audio show has increasingly evolved into a larger entertainment platform spanning creators, original content, and television ambitions.
