Backstreet Boys just dropped a new song – “Bottle Up“!
The boy band – AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson and Nick Carter – dropped the track on Friday (June 12), and it’s for the upcoming movie, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie.
“Bottle Up” also has some prominent songwriters – Savan Kotecha and Ed Sheeran, with the former having also previously co-written the group’s song “In a World Like This.”
“wrote a song for the paw patrol movie that the backstreet boys sing. i love paw patrol. that is all, check it out x,” Ed shared on his Instagram story after the track’s release.
Howie also dished about the formation of the song in a new interview.
“‘There’s a great song that Ed Sheeran coincidentally wrote and has done the demo for you guys,’” he recalled to 106.7 Lite FM. “It was Ed Sheeran and Savan, it was a little bit of Max Martin‘s camp. They presented this song to management and said, ‘We’d love to see if the guys would be interested in performing it, recording it for the new PAW Patrol soundtrack,’ and we were like, ‘Okay, let’s take a listen to it.’”
“I think after the first listen, we all were like, ‘Absolutely,’” he continued. “First of all, Ed sounded so great on the demo. It was like, how are we going to top this? But I think we actually did a good job.”
