Billie Eilish Calls Out Elon Musk on Instagram

Billie Eilish is not holding back — and this time, her frustration is aimed squarely at Elon Musk.

The 23-year-old Grammy winner sparked major conversation online after sharing a series of pointed Instagram Stories on Thursday (November 13), calling out the billionaire-turned-trillionaire for what she sees as a massive misuse of wealth. Billie reshared slides originally posted by My Voice, My Choice, an advocacy organization that often spotlights economic inequality and social issues. The headline on their post read: “Elon Musk became the world’s first trillionaire, here’s what he could do with it.”

From there, the graphics listed several crises Musk could help tackle with his unprecedented fortune — ending world hunger, protecting endangered species, even aiding in the rebuilding of Gaza. It was part educational, part indictment, and wholly in line with Billie’s longtime pattern of urging those with power to use it responsibly.

But Billie didn’t just repost — she added her own punchy commentary on the final slide, writing: “etc… F–king pathetic p–y b—h coward.”

Billie’s stance shouldn’t surprise anyone who’s been paying attention. Just a couple of weeks ago, she took aim at billionaires in a now-viral speech at the WSJ. Magazine 2025 Innovator Awards. The event was packed with industry heavyweights — including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan — and Billie didn’t shy away from making her point directly in front of them.

“We’re in a time right now where the world is really, really bad and really dark and people need empathy and help more than, kind of, ever, especially in our country. I’d say if you have money, it would be great to use it for good things, maybe give it to some people that need it,” she said while accepting her award.

She followed it up with an even blunter line:

“Love you all, but there’s a few people in here that have a lot more money than me. If you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? No hate, but yeah, give your money away, shorties.”

According to People, the room reacted with a mix of laughter and applause — though reportedly, Mark Zuckerberg did not clap along. The moment quickly circulated online, with fans praising Billie for speaking candidly in a room full of individuals who directly represented the system she was criticizing.

Stephen Colbert, who introduced her that night, also shared that Billie has raised more than $11.5 million in donations through her “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour — something her fans often highlight when comparing her actions to those of the world’s wealthiest.

Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan famously pledged in 2015 to eventually donate 99% of their Meta shares to philanthropy. Since then, they’ve reportedly given away over $7 billion, though those figures — and their impact — are still a point of debate among critics.

Billie’s latest posts, however, weren’t about any one billionaire’s track record. They were about the principle: in a world facing humanitarian crises, economic inequality, and environmental devastation, she believes hoarding wealth on a never-before-seen scale is indefensible.

And in true Billie fashion, she delivered the message with a mix of frustration, clarity, and no-nonsense bluntness — whether or not the trillionaires of the world are listening.
