BLACKPINK is officially back—and they’re not holding anything back.
The global K-pop superstars—Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé—just dropped their high-powered new single “JUMP,” marking their first release in two years. The song arrived at midnight on Friday (July 11), following a surprise debut performance earlier this week during their DEADELINE World Tour.
Produced by Diplo and written by a powerhouse team that includes Teddy Park, “JUMP” brings the group’s signature attitude and flair to a whole new level. With explosive choreography and slick visuals, the track is already making waves across social media and international charts.
The music video, directed by Dave Meyers, takes the BLACKPINK girls to the streets in a fast-paced, adrenaline-fueled visual. Meyers is no stranger to pop royalty—he’s worked with Ariana Grande, Coldplay, Usher, Harry Styles, and Sabrina Carpenter. He also directed Lisa’s “New Woman” video with Rosalía.
The lyrics of “JUMP” are packed with confidence and sass. In the opening verse, Rosé and Jisoo sing, “I’m not that easy to tame / You should see me under these lights, all my tears turn to ice.” The pre-chorus, led by Jennie and Lisa, challenges anyone who thinks they’ve got the upper hand: “Bet you get it now / Rocked that, didn’t I?”
The chorus hits hard and fast: “뛰어 / So come up with me, I’ll take you high / That Prima donna, spice up your life / You know I got that sh-t that you like / So come up with me, run up, uh, jump (뛰어).”
Each member gets a moment to shine. Lisa drops a fiery second verse, rapping, “Are you not entertained? I ain’t gotta explain / I’m with all of my sisters / Got ’em going insane.”
BLACKPINK hasn’t released a group single since 2023’s “The Girls,” which was tied to their mobile game. Since then, each member has pursued solo projects, making “JUMP” a long-awaited return for fans who’ve missed seeing them together.
And from the sound of it, this is only the beginning. With more new music and the remainder of their world tour ahead, BLACKPINK is clearly in comeback mode—and they’re doing it on their own terms.
As Jennie shouts in the outro: “BLACKPINK in your area. 뛰어!”
