Brie Larson isn’t sure why she is being asked about Johnny Depp’s film opening for the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
The 33-year-old Captain Marvel actress and Cannes juror expressed her confusion when she was specifically asked about the movie and if she would be watching it.
During a jury press conference on Tuesday, Brie had this to say when the question came up:
“You’re asking me that?
I’m sorry, I don’t understand the correlation or why me specifically.”
Brie is a well-known outspoken advocate of the #MeToo movement. Johnny has had very big and very public legal battles with ex-wife Amber Heard regarding allegations of domestic abuse.
She was pressed further about the topic, to which she responded:
“You’ll see, I guess, if I will see it. And I don’t know how I’ll feel about it if I do.”
Brie did end up being spotted in attendance at the premiere of Johnny’s Jeanne de Barry.
