Chappell Roan is making a decisive move — and making her values clear.

The rising pop star announced that she has officially left the Wasserman talent agency amid renewed scrutiny surrounding the company’s founder, Casey Wasserman, and his connection to the Epstein files.

The decision follows the recent release of millions of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, which included message exchanges between Wasserman and Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a prison sentence.

While Wasserman has not been accused of criminal wrongdoing, the messages — sent in 2003 while he was married — have sparked widespread criticism and renewed calls for accountability.

In addition to leading one of the most influential talent agencies in entertainment and sports, Wasserman also serves as the head of the 2028 Olympic Games committee for Los Angeles. In light of the revelations, some have called for him to step down from both roles.

Chappell Roan, though not represented directly by Wasserman himself, addressed the situation in a statement shared via Instagram Stories on Monday (February 9).

“As of today, I am no longer represented by Wasserman, the talent agency led by Casey Wasserman,” she wrote.

She continued with a clear and values-driven explanation:

“I hold my teams to the highest standards and have a duty to protect them as well. No artist, agent, or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values.”

Chappell emphasized that her decision was not a dismissal of the agency’s broader staff.

“I have deep respect and appreciation for the agents and staff who work tirelessly for their artists and I refuse to passively stand by,” she said.

She concluded by underscoring the broader implications of her choice:

“Artists deserve representation that aligns with their values and supports their safety and dignity. This decision reflects my belief that meaningful change in our industry requires accountability and leadership that earns trust.”

The move positions Chappell as one of the most high-profile artists to publicly sever ties with the agency amid the controversy. Other major clients currently associated with Wasserman include Ed Sheeran, Lorde, Coldplay, and Kacey Musgraves.
