Drake Bell’s wife is divorcing him.
The former child star’s wife, Janet Von Schmeling, has filed for divorce one week after he was declared missing and then subsequently found hours later.
Drake and Janet have been married for four years. They share one child together. The two announced that they had gone their separate ways earlier this year.
Now, months afterwards, Janet has officially filed for divorce from Drake.
Legal documents obtained by outlets show that Janet cited irreconcilable differences as the reason. The documents also show that they have been separated since September of last year.
Janet is looking to get primary custody of their son, Wyatt. She is likewise seeking spousal support.
The news of their impending divorce comes just one week after the actor’s apparent disappearance. He was reported missing following a heated discussion with Janet. A call between police stations revealed that Drake was threatening to commit suicide in communications with his family. This was what drove his family to seek help in finding him.
