For two of comedy’s most iconic names, the connection just got even deeper.
Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are officially linked in a new way—through family.
While attending the American Film Institute Achievement Award Ceremony on April 18, Murphy shared the news that his son Eric Murphy and Martin Lawrence’s daughter Jasmin Lawrence have welcomed their first child together.
A baby girl.
Her name: Ari Skye.
“They just had a baby girl,” Murphy told E! News. “They just had her two weeks ago, or a week ago. Yeah, Ari. Ari Skye.”
The announcement marks a full-circle moment for both families—one that blends legacy, family ties, and a new generation.
Eric, 36, and Jasmin, 30, first went public with their relationship in 2021. Their timeline moved steadily from there: engagement in November 2024, a private elopement in May 2025, and the announcement of their pregnancy earlier this year.
Now, they’ve entered parenthood.
When asked whether he or Lawrence had offered any parenting advice, Murphy’s answer was both candid and telling.
“Oh, you don’t give advice like that,” he said. “You know, your kids don’t go by your advice. Your kids go by the example you set. They watch you.”
He continued with a bit more blunt honesty:
“The stuff you be saying, they don’t even pay that s–t no mind. They watch and see what you do. So, I don’t give a lot of advice.”
Despite decades in the spotlight, both Murphy and Lawrence have maintained strong family presences, often keeping those dynamics grounded and relatively private.
