John Legend is opening up about Blake Shelton leaving The Voice.
The 46-year-old country star recently announced that he will be leaving the longstanding reality show. Blake has been involved with The Voice since its inception in 2011, and is the only remaining original judge.
He has revealed that he will be departing The Voice after its upcoming 23rd season. And now, John is speaking out about his fellow judge and friend’s decision.
John said in an interview with ET that Blake is the “heart” and “soul” of The Voice, saying:
“Well, you know, he’s been doing the show for 22 seasons, it’ll be 23 when he’s done, and you can’t do something forever.
We’ve gonna miss him though. He’s been the heart and soul and anchor of the show for a long time, and he’s a friend of mine, and I really enjoy working with him.”
