Meghan Trainor surprised fans on April 16 when she announced she would be canceling her upcoming Get In Girl Tour, a summer run that was set to span multiple cities across the U.S. The decision came after fans began noticing early signs online, with select dates quietly disappearing before Trainor addressed the situation directly.

Then came her statement—personal, honest, and unmistakably clear.

“After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel The Get In Girl Tour. Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now, and I need to be home and present for each and all of them at this time,” she shared via Instagram Stories.

For an artist known for upbeat anthems and high-energy performances, the announcement marks a notable shift—one that prioritizes life offstage over momentum on it.

And the timing isn’t incidental.

Trainor is currently navigating a particularly full season: new music on the way, a major tour rollout, and most significantly, the arrival of a new baby. It’s a convergence that would be demanding under any circumstances, let alone all at once.

Her decision reflects that reality.

“I know this will come as a disappointment to my fans, and I am so sorry to let you down. But I know this is the right decision for my family and me right now. I promise I’ll be back soon, and I can’t wait for you to hear this new record. I’m so proud of it, and I’m endlessly grateful for your love and support always.”

The Get In Girl Tour was originally scheduled to kick off in June in Michigan and run through August, with stops in major cities including Los Angeles. It was expected to support her upcoming album—one that she’s already teased as a deeply personal and creatively fulfilling project.
