Horror’s reigning final girl isn’t hanging up the phone anytime soon. Following the massive box-office success of Scream 7 in early 2026, genre icon Neve Campbell has officially confirmed her return for the upcoming eighth installment in the legendary slasher franchise.

Speaking with the Associated Press while discussing her current slate of production and development projects, the 53-year-old actress casually let slip that her return to the Woodsboro universe is officially locked in. When asked directly about what lies ahead on her upcoming schedule, Campbell revealed:

“I’ve got two shows that I’m developing, one I’ve sold, and Scream 8,” Campbell confirmed. “So, you know, that’s in the pipeline as well.”

When pressed for narrative details or filming timelines regarding the upcoming horror sequel, Campbell maintained the franchise’s strict secrecy protocol while offering fans the exact confirmation they were waiting for:

“You know, I can never tell you anything about Scream 8. I’ll be in it.”

Campbell’s continued involvement marks a celebrated era of stability for the 30-year-old film series. After sitting out 2023’s Scream VI due to a high-profile salary dispute, Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group secured Campbell’s return for Scream 7 with a reported $7 million payday. The investment paid massive dividends at the global box office, with Scream 7 pulling in $207 million worldwide compared to its predecessor’s $166 million finish.

With Sidney Prescott firmly back at the center of the narrative, Scream 8 promises to continue the franchise’s rare streak of critical and commercial dominance.
